French readout of Macron Trump call: President Macron just had a 25-minute-long call with President Trump (at around 6 p.m. CET / 12 p.m. EST). He was among the very first heads of state to do so and congratulated him and Vice President-elect JD Vance. He underscored the importance of relying on Europe and taking it into account in the face of shared challenges. They spoke about the international crises, in particular, Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East. They agreed to keep in close touch. They had a very warm conversation, building on their strong preexisting relationship.

Don Lemon blasted capitalism today on his obscure network, "The inherent unfairness lies in the fact that capitalism works," Lemon claimed, "It's obviously a far superior system to socialism and that's why whitey has appropriated it. They take all the good ideas. They rile up their base with dog whistles and refuse to share equally in the misery of socialism, preferring to leave that for the minorities to shoulder. Just because socialism is a bad idea doesn't mean minorities should face it alone."
