The cost of war
This is my Polish grandfather who fought with the 4th Marines and won a Purple Heart in Saipan, then fought in Iwo Jima. He committed suicide due to (prescribed) heroin addiction to "cure" morphine addiction before I met him. And that's my Ukrainian grandmother who verbally abused us, and died of cancer as an alcoholic.
I say that not to disparage my grandparents who did the best they could. My grandfather was a hero, and my grandmother was arguably also as noble. I say that to emphasize the enduring consequences of war.
These people raised my mother. My mother died of cirrhosis at 67 back in 2020.
Lucky for me, I turned out normal.

(Also, Marines are still crayon eaters. Go Army!)

Equality of ideas
Don Lemon blasted capitalism today on his obscure network, "The inherent unfairness lies in the fact that capitalism works," Lemon claimed, "It's obviously a far superior system to socialism and that's why whitey has appropriated it. They take all the good ideas. They rile up their base with dog whistles and refuse to share equally in the misery of socialism, preferring to leave that for the minorities to shoulder. Just because socialism is a bad idea doesn't mean minorities should face it alone."
